Realizing the need to offer a SOA model ATG already has announced implementation of web services in its latest product offering ATG version 6.2.As organizations begin to use Web services to solve complicated business problems, ATG has enhanced its products to allow these organizations to take advantage of ATG’s powerful personalization and commerce capabilities through Web services

ATG software ships with a feature-rich set of out-of-the-box services specifically focused on Personalization, Commerce, and the Data Anywhere ArchitectureSM (managing repository data).

Each Web service is implemented in a Java API for XML-Based RPC (JAX-RPC) and deployed in a standard way according to Java Specification Request 109 (JSR-109), which means that ATG Web services can be used on any of ATG’s supported application servers.

ATG Web services are based on industry standards and provide a powerful, flexible, yet easy-to-use solution for developers who need to integrate ATG functionality throughout the enterprise. The enterprise can accelerate application development and ensure interoperability, and ATG applications allow the enterprise to use existing Web services standards to reduce the total costs of ownership, enhance customer relationships, increase business agility, and reduce integration cost and complexity.
